SACRAMENT MEETINGS

Sacrament meeting planning, without the spreadsheet.

Who spoke last, who has been asked, who accepted, and what the agenda says on Sunday morning. One shared plan your bishopric can all see, instead of a spreadsheet one person maintains and everyone else guesses at.

Church Meeting Planner is made for bishoprics, branch presidencies, and the clerks and secretaries who plan with them, in wards and branches of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It is an independent tool, not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Church.

The part that takes the longest

Who has not spoken recently?

This is the question a spreadsheet answers badly. Every talk that actually happened is recorded, so the list of who could speak next puts people with nothing recorded first, then whoever spoke longest ago. Anyone already booked for a coming Sunday moves down the list and says which date, so you will not ask the same person twice while planning three weeks in one sitting.

Starting from what you already have

Most units have a list somewhere of who has spoken recently. Enter those dates once and the rotation starts in the right place, rather than treating everyone as though they had never spoken. It takes a few minutes, and only happens once.

Prayers counted separately

Asking someone to pray does not affect their rotation for speaking. Speakers and prayers run on their own rotations, so both stay fair without you tracking two lists.

Sunday morning

An agenda to share, and one for conducting

Print or share a clean agenda for the congregation, and keep a conducting copy that carries the details only the person conducting needs. Hymn numbers, who is presiding, who is praying, and how long each talk is planned to run.

Will it fit in the hour?

Planned times add up as you go, so you can see before Sunday whether the meeting runs long. It is a note to you, never a rule — nothing stops you saving a meeting that runs over.

Fast Sunday, ward conference, a Christmas program

Each of these is a template under sacrament meeting, so they share one speaking rotation and history but print the heading and the agenda each one needs.

Beyond sacrament meeting

Ward council, bishopric meeting, baptisms, and anything else you plan can live here too, each with its own agenda templates and its own rotation. A prayer at council does not affect anyone’s rotation for speaking on Sunday.
